There is a church in the centre of the village, a building that has historically been at the heart of all aspects of community life: baptisms, weddings and funerals, etc.

The Historic Church of Saint-Henri-de-Barachois is no longer used to religious ends. It now has an artistic, a cultural and a patrimonial mandate. Accommodating an art gallery, a concert hall and a museum, this church makes it possible for people to understand the religious past of Acadians while also playing the role of identity watchdog for the community.

Come meet inspiring volunteer workers who showcase religious and Acadian history within this community church, and don’t forget to share your experience by using the hashtags #égliseSHB and #RFMSE.
